Shane Wilding is the founder and head professional at Wilding Golf Performance Centers. He has extensive teaching experience coaching both amateur and professional level golfers in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the USA. Shane worked extensively on the PGA Champions Tour with world renowned players such as Curtis Strange, Ben Crenshaw, David Eger and Graham Marsh – as well as Australian Tour Players including Peter Lonard, Rod Pampling and Paul Gow in the 5 years he spent with Australia’s No. 1 golf coach, Gary Edwin.
David Eger – PGA Champions Tour (USA)
Shane started to work on David’s swing in August 2004, with 7 tournaments left in the season. David was in 39th place on the “Order of Merit”. They had instant success, earning $350,000 in those last 7 weeks. David finished the year in 25th place on the “Order of Merit,” securing his playing right for 2005. David went on to clinch his second Tour Win at the inaugural 2005 Boeing Seattle Classic by 3 strokes. David currently still plays on The Champions Tour with over $6million in earnings.
Graham Marsh – PGA Champions Tour (USA)
Shane started working with Graham Marsh at age 59, midway through the 2003 season. Graham had, to that point, experienced an average year, ranking 45th on the “Order of Merit.” With 13 tournaments to go in 2003, Shane helped rebuild key parts of Graham’s swing. Results speak for themselves: three top 5 finishes, one top 10 and eventually 24th ranking on the “Order of Merit.” Continued success was achieved on 2004, with Graham finishing 26th on the “Order of Merit” at age 60.
“Golf has developed at an incredible pace across Asia, however the technology and training available in the region is still very traditional. Until now, golfers living in Asia have had to travel to the US, at considerable expense, to improve their game at state-of-the-art training facilities such as our Bangkok Performance Centers,” said Wilding.
“Our state-of-the-art facilities dominate Thailand’s golf training arena,” said founder Shane Wilding, who brings to Thailand over 15 years of top-level teaching and coaching experience from the US, Australia and Asia. “Thailand is already world-renowned as a first-rate golfing destination. The Wilding Golf Performance Centers can only enhance this by showing the world that the Kingdom is also a first-rate golf training destination.”
Having earned international status as a top golf coach, Wilding is known for his remarkably keen eye and deep understanding of golfers, their abilities, deficiencies and patterns. These attributes combined with his natural teaching ability have developed into a highly-successful instruction method that is simple to understand, showing players what and why things go wrong and how to correct and improve their performance and consistency.
His innovative coaching style and passion for knowledge has kept Wilding on the leading-edge of golf performance technology and positioned Wilding Golf as a pioneer in the region. Wilding’s desire to provide golfers of all levels with access to the same technology and training methods used by the game’s top players has materialized into a training system and facility on par with the best available anywhere in the world.
“Golf is not a difficult game if you’ve been taught correctly, and given the right information on equipment.”
